Helpful Recommendations
We recommend that you take articles of clothing that are older
and less expensive. There is a chance while we work or minister that we will
get dirty. Here are some of our suggestions.
During the Day: At church we want to look our best. It is the culture of
women in Mexico to wear dresses to church, so we do highly recommend it.
During the day we recommend that you wear old, comfortable, working type shoes.
Tennis shoes are ideal, but please no sandals during the day. We will be
spending a great deal of time on our feet. Sunscreen and sunglasses are very
helpful, because we will be spending a large amount of time outside. Depending
upon the season, jackets or sweatshirts are necessary, because it does get
chilly at night. Ladies, we recommend that you leave all expensive and
sentimental jewelry at home. There will be women and little girls that may want
it and it will be hard to refuse, so to eliminate this problem we recommend
that you leave it at home.
On our trips we will be eating all Mexican food. So if that is a problem, you
should consider that. Also you may want to bring snacks for traveling or at
night.
You will need a photo I.D. and if you can a photocopy of your birth certificate or passport if you have one. Your birth certificate or passport is not absolutely necessary but they are good to have. It is helpful to have a backpack/fanny pack to carry water, your bible, camera or snacks in throughout the day. Remember, a photo ID. is a must!
We ask you to try and pack moderately, because space is limited. One outfit will be sufficient enough for each day, so consider this in your packing. Our traveling time from Amarillo to Juarez, Mexico will be approximately 8 hours. The price of the trip includes all food, lodging, and transportation. We do recommend that you carry a small amount of spending money for snacks, souvenirs, or emergency needs. We recommend no more than $20.00 to $30.00. Besides this money, everything else will be provided by Streams of Water.

Orphanage Update
We are in the middle of the amazing instruction of the Lord to build an
orphanage for 20 deserving children in Mexico! We are so excited, and cannot
wait until it is ready to open and change the lives of children in Juarez!
And with the help of so many of our supporters we have now completed the
construction phase of the orphanage. We are now moving into the cosmetic and
furnishing phases. (see Orphanage building project page
for more...)
